PhD Club: Advancing the methodology of targeted subcellular thermal damage by Adam Kiska

Dear colleagues,I would like to invite you to the lecture by Adam Kiska called "Advancing the methodology of targeted subcellular thermal damage". The lecture will be on Wednesday April 23, 2025 at 8:30 AM in the room 1.09 at IMTM.AbstractProtein unfolding and aggregation are processes implicated in various pathologies, including neurodegenerative and systemic diseases. Currently, the combination of laser-scanning microscopy with plasmon resonance principles is the only published methodology capable of inducing targeted subcellular thermal damage while simultaneously enabling real-time quantification of aggregation-related heat-shock protein kinetics. This presentation introduces advancements to the method and new measurements of the dynamic recruitment of chaperones.
