Dear colleagues,
I would like to invite you to the lecture by Mayur Mukim "Smart Ammonia: A Latent Donor Strategy for Controlling Multicomponent Reaction Pathways". The lecture will be on Wednesday April 1st at 9AM in the room 1.09 at IMTM.
Abstract
Ammonia is a key nitrogen source in multicomponent reactions (MCRs), yet its direct use or conventional surrogates often suffers from poor compatibility, side reactions, and limited control over reactivity. Here, I present a latent ammonia donor that enables controlled in situ NH₃ release under mild conditions, improving chemo selectivity even in the presence of competing nucleophiles such as free amines. This troubleshooting-driven study highlights how tuning ammonia delivery can influence MCR pathways and expand the scope of Ugi-type transformations.
