About me
I am working in the pharmacology department with focus on the ADME. ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion) deals with the study and prediction of the basic pharmacokinetic properties of drugs in their preclinical development. These in vitro models generatehe many ADME parameters, including chemical, plasma and microsomal stability and plasma protein binding. Another area of interest is permeability, for example, using the PAMPA method (Parallel artificial membrane permeability assay), which provides an in vitro model for passive diffusion. The models of cell lines (Caco-2, MDR1-MDCK) provide information such as permeability of substances across a cell monolayer. The MDR1-MDCK cell line is used to study P-glycoprotein substrates and inhibitors, as well as to assess the transfer of newly developed drugs across the blood-brain barrier. Caco-2, a cell line derived from colorectal cancer, is used to determine intestinal absorption. Analysis of samples is performed using a Agilent RapidFire 300 High-Throughput Mass Spectrometry System (Agilent, Wakefield, MA) with subsequent detection of the mass spectrometer Qtrap 5500 (AB Sciex, Concord, Canada), abbreviation RF-MS.
